When the cold season arrives, there’s nothing nicer than keeping your hands warm! These hand-knitted cashmere and silk mittens, made in France (more precisely in Brittany), are a must-have for your winter wardrobe: lightweight, luxurious, and incredibly stylish.
The yarn was spun in an Italian mill that has specialized in high-end cashmere for decades. Yes, indeed… A cashmere sweater for 50 euros, you can be sure it’s not real cashmere! But that’s a topic for another blog…
A dream union
Renowned for its natural warmth and finesse, cashmere is ideal for battling cold and humidity. Like all wool, it retains body heat while remaining breathable.
Silk, on the other hand, provides suppleness, shine, and lightness. The combination of the two creates an ultra-soft fabric that fits perfectly around your hands without irritating your skin, offering unparalleled comfort.
The yarn I use is extremely fine, and for all my mittens, I used between 10 and 14 strands, depending on their thickness. For my mittens in gradient colors, I used no less than 24 strands…

Cashmere and silk mittens: luxury without sacrificing practicality
Unlike traditional gloves, mittens leave your fingers free. So there’s no need to constantly take your gloves off and put them back on! They’re ideal for driving, using your phone or typing, or even walking your dog (easier to hold the leash!) Thanks to their elasticity, they adapt without compressing your hands and they slip easily under a thick sweater or coat.

A touch of discreet elegance
Available in a vibrant and timeless color palette (salmon pink, cream, blue as well as in beautiful gradients of blue and pink, for the moment… Black and green are also in my projects!) – these cashmere mittens match all your outfits: coats, puff jackets, large wool sweaters, tailored jackets… Their slightly satiny texture brings a chic and feminine touch, ideal for outings in the city as well as for the office.
Easy maintenance and long life
Cashmere, like silk, is a precious and durable material if you follow the care instructions. Although you can machine wash them in the wool cycle with a special detergent for delicate fibers, I recommend hand washing them. And only if absolutely necessary. Indeed, cashmere is a “breathable” wool, so simply airing them out in the open air may be enough. Dry flat. By following these tips, these mittens will retain their shine and comfort as well as their durability.
A fashionable and well-being winter accessory
Adopting cashmere mittens is opting for a soft and refined moment, an accessory that is at once practical, elegant and durable. Indeed, they will keep your hands warm while enhancing your style.
